3.5 months topical finasteride with minoxidil hair loss medication

This patient first visited The Maitland Clinic in November 2024 for a hair transplant consultation with Dr Ball. At that time, he was not using any hair loss medication. Examination with our TrichoLab camera revealed significant miniaturisation in the frontal and crown area, which made him a great candidate for hair loss medication.

After discussing his options with Dr Ball, he decided to start treatment with topical finasteride combined with minoxidil, prescribed through our bespoke prescription service in partnership with our compounding chemist. Initially, he experienced some skin irritation, but with Dr Ball’s guidance we were able to adjust the formulation and dosage to find an effective solution that he could tolerate well.
