The science behind hair restoration surgery is already well-established and continues to advance. In the hands of an expert surgeon, today’s techniques can deliver exceptional, completely natural-looking results.

At The Maitland Clinic we use the very latest equipment and state-of-the-art techniques to ensure that our patients enjoy the most advanced hair restoration surgery currently available.

How hair restoration surgery works

Surgical hair restoration is the process of transferring healthy hair follicles from the patient’s own permanent areas of the scalp to the non-permanent areas. In cases of male or female pattern baldness, this will typically mean transferring follicles from the back and sides of the head to the crown and the front of the head, where follicle miniaturisation and hair loss has occurred.

The Maitland Clinic offers different surgical hair restoration techniques which allows us select the appropriate method for your particular hair characteristics and goals. They involves the same essential process, but each uses a different method to harvest the follicular unit grafts. Dr Ball will talk you through the pros and cons of the various options and will advise on the right surgery for you.
