PRP hair loss treatment in London
Experience the transformative power of Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy.
At The Maitland Clinic we are proud to offer advanced non-surgical hair restoration techniques such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a revolutionary treatment that harnesses your body’s own healing capabilities to stimulate hair growth and scalp health.
PRP at The Maitland Clinic
PRP therapy is a state-of-the-art hair loss treatment that encourages the body to naturally develop healthier hair. During the treatment, a small blood sample is taken from the patient and treated to enrich the platelets, which are cells loaded with growth factors. This concentrated platelet-rich plasma is then reintroduced into the scalp. The enhanced presence of growth factors stimulates cell regeneration and boosts blood flow to the hair follicles. As a result, this process encourages new hair growth, helping to support a wide range of hair loss conditions.
Highly effective
Although more research is needed on PRP, existing clinical studies have shown that PRP therapy can significantly improve hair quality by increasing hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycles. PRP therapy may also stabilise or reduce hair loss. This makes it effective for potentially treating a wide range of hair loss conditions.
Non-surgical approach
One of the major benefits of PRP therapy is that it avoids the need for surgery. This means there is minimal downtime required and you can get back to daily activities soon after treatment, making it a convenient option if you have a busy lifestyle.
Safe and low-risk
PRP therapy involves using your own blood, which minimises the risk of rejection or side effects. As well as this, at The Maitland Clinic, we place patient safety at the forefront of our work. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and follow strict governance standards to ensure all our treatments are as safe as possible.
Why choose us for PRP treatment?
- Precision and comfort: We use a mesotherapy injection device to inject our PRP. This is far less painful than traditional injection methods and allows us to precisely set the injection depth and volume of PRP injected. Unlike the standard approach (which takes around 10 minutes), our PRP treatment takes around an hour so we can prioritise your care and comfort, and offer you the most precise results.
- Advanced techniques: A rigorous and high quality collection tube and centrifuge system is used to ensure the best yield of platelets. Our technique has shown to generate platelet concentrations to the optimal levels, in line with best practice, allowing our patients to experience the most effective results possible.
- Personalised care: At The Maitland Clinic, we thoroughly believe in creating bespoke treatment plans for each individual to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety. After an in-depth consultation process, we design a tailored treatment plan to allow for high-quality and natural-looking results that compliment your unique features.

Frequently asked questions
Am I a suitable candidate for PRP hair loss treatment?
PRP therapy can be used as a stand-alone therapy for both men and women who are in the early stages of hair loss. For instance, you might be experiencing hair thinning, but not enough thinning to be a candidate for surgery. It is unlikely to be effective in spots which are completely bald.
Is PRP an approved treatment?
PRP is not currently approved by the FDA for hair loss treatment. This means it is still considered an experimental approach. At The Maitland Clinic, we have decided to offer PRP due to the excellent clinical results we have seen in research. However, it’s important to keep in mind that much more research is needed on the treatment and that results will vary between patients.
Can I have PRP hair loss treatment in London?
We currently offer PRP treatments and consultations in our Hampshire office, which can be easily accessed from London. Our London clinic currently does not have any capacity for PRP treatments or consultations, but we expect this situation will change soon.
