Welcome to our online portal for booking appointments with trichologist Marta Teixeira.
Marta offers in-person consultations at our Portsmouth clinic as well as remote consultations for patients who would like some general advice on hair loss and the various treatments available.
There is a fee of £150 for an in-person consultation (up to 60 minutes) and £75 for a remote consultation (30 minutes) which is payable at the time. The remote consultations are not recommended for female patients who need to have a diagnosis of their hair loss.
Marta will carry out an in-depth medical assessment of your hair and scalp (in-person consultation only) and a discuss treatment options with you. As a trichologist and nurse prescriber, Marta is able to prescribe treatment when appropriate.
Marta Teixeira, IAT, BN (Hons), RN (Adult), PGCert, MSc
Marta is a highly qualified trichologist and nurse prescriber with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss. Marta’s experience as a dermatology specialist nurse has provided her with a comprehensive knowledge of conditions affecting the hair and scalp. She is able to provide The Maitland Clinic patients a first-class services that focuses on scientific data and evidence-based treatments.
Marta’s experience as a dermatology specialist nurse has been complimented by trichology training through the International Association of Trichologists. She was appointed as a hair expert for the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) in the Department for Education in London. As a member of the Route Panel for Hair and Beauty, Marta is responsible for providing expert recommendations on the technical and scientific content of hair education courses and standards. She has also been recently appointed to the board of the Trichology Standards Authority (TSA) in order to help improve the standards of trichological education in the UK.
Her work has been published in the Dermatology Nursing Journal, and she is a member of the European Hair Research Society, British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery, British Dermatological Nursing Group and the International Association of Trichologists.
Marta is a keen educator and serves as a co-host for the International Trichology Congress “Grand Rounds” online educational forum, which provides regular educational webinars for medical professionals and trichologists. She also works as an online hair educator in Portugal, explaining hair science via Instagram posts, with frequent one-to-one online hair consultations, haircare education courses, media quotes and public speaking appearances.

Consultations and surgical hair restoration procedures are carried out at our clinic in a discreet location on the south coast. Based in state-of-the-art premises just north of the historic naval city of Portsmouth, the clinic is a short drive or train journey from London and an ideal place if you wish to spend a few days away from work following your surgery. We are also only a 20 minute drive from Southampton airport which conveniently connects with Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin and Europe.
