Marta is a highly qualified nurse prescriber who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss. Marta’s role is to consult patients who are suffering with hair loss, diagnose their condition, explain the cause of their hair loss and discuss the various treatment options available.

As a nurse prescriber with a passion for scientific data and evidence-based treatments, Marta is able to explain the very latest treatment options and is licensed to prescribe medication. This enables her to offer a compassionate and comprehensive one-stop service, where patients can spend time discussing their concerns, receive an accurate diagnosis and start an evidence-based treatment plan. Marta is available to provide a personal service, guiding you through your treatment, supporting you with regard to any concerns you may have about treatment side effects and reviewing your progress over the following months and years. Keeping in touch with Marta allows you to stay up to date with any developments in the hair loss field and provides an opportunity for her to recommend adjustments or changes to your treatment plan, ensuring a truly personalised and scientific approach to your care.

Marta’s experience as a dermatology specialist nurse has been complimented by trichology training through the International Association of Trichologists. She was appointed as a hair expert for the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) in the Department for Education in London. As a member of the Route Panel for Hair and Beauty, Marta is responsible for providing expert recommendations on the technical and scientific content of hair education courses and standards. She has also been recently appointed to the board of the Trichology Standards Authority (TSA) in order to help improve the standards of trichological education in the UK.

Marta’s work has been published in the Dermatology Nursing Journal, and she is a member of the European Hair Research Society, British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery, British Dermatological Nursing Group and the International Association of Trichologists.

Marta is a keen educator and serves as a co-host for the International Trichology Congress “Grand Rounds” online educational forum, which provides regular educational webinars for medical professionals and trichologists. She also works as an online hair educator in Portugal, explaining hair science via Instagram posts, with frequent one-to-one online hair consultations, haircare education courses, media quotes and public speaking appearances.
